this is one of my favorite places in the world, not for anything but the (thousands of) memories of it that I hold so dear to my heart. it’s just a plain old dirty desert to most people, but to me it’s where I learned to ride a quad then eventually where I learned to drive a car. it’s where my dad proposed to my mom. it’s where me and my cousins played countless games of go fish and flashlight tag. it’s where many thanksgivings were held, followed by turkey burrito nights. lots of marshmallows were roasted here, and hundreds of camp fire stories were told. I grew up here, I got hurt here, I learned here, families grew here. it’s a safe place, it’s my place.
